Pyrope Garnet

	Pyrope Garnet: (Red Garnet) This stone's name derives from the Latin word for grain, because of the rounded shape of its crystals. Red garnet is either Almandine or Pyrope, and has a hardness of 7 to 7.5. Large deposits are from the Czech Republic, South Africa, India, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Brazil. Mystic Lore: Intuitive sources say Red Garnet is strengthening to the 1st chakra at the base of the spine and that it helps one stay grounded.
